"Youth.ROC" Long-Distance Running Training Program (2016 - 2018)

RunOurCity has always focused on youth development, and Youth.ROC is a charitable project of RunOurCity Foundation. The program has benefited over 7,600 young people, including the underprivileged, youth at risk, residents of care facilities, those recovering from addiction, and minority youth. Through long-distance running training, the program aims to foster positive holistic development and transformation in their lives. Additionally, Youth.ROC has received support from the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR government, promoting running in secondary schools as part of the Bureau’s new senior secondary curriculum under “Other Learning Experiences,” encouraging running to become a regular part of young people’s lives.

Program Goals and Details

The program consists of 8 training sessions focused on fun, aimed at sparking young people’s interest in long-distance running and promoting physical fitness. It seeks to cultivate the marathon spirit of perseverance, enhance personal confidence, and expand social networks. Through street running activities, the youths deepen their understanding of the community and give back, spreading positive energy. At the end of the program, participants will be able to complete a 10km run.

Fees

Free of charge (for students facing financial difficulties, with special learning needs, or those disadvantaged in their development).

The total cost for each class of 8 sessions is HK$25,000. To encourage schools or nonprofit organizations to promote running training, our organization is willing to cover most of the expenses, with participating units only needing to contribute HK$10,000. If there are financial difficulties, a fee waiver can be applied for.

Please contact our staff for details.

Follow-up Program

After completing the training, participants can choose to join YOUTH.ONE, the second phase of the program.
