RunOurCity Foundation

Youth.ONE (2019 - 2021)

Riding on the success of the project “Youth.ROC”, and with the support of SIE Fund, RunOurCity Foundation Limited is taking forward a new project – Youth.ONE. In this project, it provides a three-year all-rounded distance running with more than 700 training sessions and youth development program to improve the physical and mental health of young people, as well as to offer coach training and job opportunities to them.

A training program for primary and secondary school students will be provided. It includes training in distance running, character-building activities, personal coaching, coaching skills, and coach practicing opportunities. The program comprises components in four levels.

Program Goals and Details

The program is divided into four phases, including regular running training, volunteer training and service, local and overseas competitions, sports workshops, and leadership training, to discover the interests and potential of young people, with opportunities to become coaches and project management leaders.

The first and second phases provide foundational training and are mandatory for participants. Activities guide participants to start from scratch with running, using long-distance running training to build confidence, develop perseverance, and enhance focus. At the same time, by exploring the community, engaging in volunteer training and service, and taking part in local and overseas competitions, the program helps foster diverse development.

The third and fourth phases provide advanced training and are elective activities. These phases cultivate participants’ leadership skills, provide career guidance and internship training, and help them understand race and running event management, equipping them to become coaches and leaders in project management.

Program Outcomes
Individual Level: Enjoy the joy of running, build positive character, and maintain good health
Community Level: Expand social circles, participate in volunteer activities, and care for society

Career Planning: Learn skills, broaden horizons, and train as coaches and leaders

Community Exploration

Through community fun runs, volunteer services, and local competitions, participants elevate their understanding of community facilities, environments, and organizations from an individual level to a community level. They build a sense of belonging to the community and care for different members of society. Participants also reflect on their relationship with the community and establish a network for sharing community resources.
